(I Drive The Limit Everywhere)

Safety Over SpeedThe Fayetteville Police Department is boosting efforts to improve driving safety with the implementation of the I Drive the Limit Everywhere (IDLE) program. Those who pledge also sign certificates agreeing to maintain the speed limit and police officers put a sticker on the vehicle. Recruitment efforts will continue through the department’s Community Affairs Division and police officers will put stickers on their cars.

Anyone ages 18 and up can pledge to IDLE. You do not have to be a city resident to pledge.

The IDLE program is a helpful companion to the Safety Over Speed (SOS) Coalition and Civilian Crash Investigator program. The SOS Coalition is a group of City staff; Cumberland County Schools, Fort Bragg and Cumberland County representatives; and citizens educating the community about safe driving.

IDLE accomplishes the principles “Engages Our Citizens” and “Partnership of Citizens” of the City’s Strategic Plan.

Anyone interested in participating may contact the Community Affairs Office at the Fayetteville Police Department , (910) 433-1033.
