If you have to visit the Fayetteville Police Department this Thursday, you will more than likely be taken in by the aroma of freshly baked cookies as you walk through the front doors.
On Thursday, December 18th, a group of ladies from the local chapter of the Red Hat Society will hand out home made, freshly baked, cookies with thank you notes, to each and every Police Department employee.
Bobbie Carthon of the Red Hat Society arranged the groups visit to the Police Department as a gesture of “thanking people for a thankless job”. In total, the ladies will be baking over 480 cookies so that each employee, both sworn and civilian, can have two cookies each.
The Red Hat Society will arrive at the police department at 11:00 a.m. and will make their rounds throughout the department and the Cross Creek Bureau.
Our local media representatives are invited to attend this event.
