Suspect Charged in Simmons Ho

Fayetteville Homicide Detectives have charged the suspect responsible for the August 30th, 2008 homicide of Codis Simmons.


20-year old, Glen Simmons is currently being held in the Sampson County Jail on charges of Attempted Murder and Robbery.  Acting on information received while conducting their own investigation, Sampson County Detectives contacted the Fayetteville Homicide Squad.  Lead Detective Tracey Bowman followed up on the leads provided by Sampson County and was able to officially charge Glen Simmons, who is a black male, with the First Degree Murder of Codis Simmons.   There is no relation between the two.


Robbery has been confirmed as the motive for this incident.  There is currently no photograph available for Glen Simmons and it is unknown at this time whether he will be transferred to the Cumberland County Detention Center. 


The Fayetteville Homicide Squad would like to officially thank Sampson County officials for the assistance they provided to the Fayetteville Police Department in this incident.
