An earlier traffic accident involving three vehicles at the intersection of Rosehill Road and Country Club drive has now been cleared and all lanes of traffic are flowing freely.
At 10:29 a.m. officers were dispatched to traffic accident with injuries. The preliminary investigation has revealed that a Pontiac Grand-Am was traveling outbound on Rosehill Road when the driver ran a red light causing the vehicle to collide with a GMC truck traveling Westbound. The result of the collision caused both vehicles to strike a third vehicle sitting in the turn lane on Rosehill Road.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the Grand-Am was airlifted to UNC Chapel Hill with serious injuries. The driver’s of the other vehicles were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, injuries unknown at this time.
