The photo provided by the family of Joanne Monk is actually a photo of Joanne Monk's mother. Family members say the picture is very similar to how Ms. Monk appears now. When a current photo is obtained by detectives, we will distribute it to the media. Thank you for your consideration and understanding.
We now have a photo of Joanne Monk, who went missing on 4/5/2011. Family members say her hair is shorter and greyer than in the photo. She has also lost some weight since this photo was taken. If anyone sees Monk, please call 911.
Missing Person/Silver Alert
The Fayetteville Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating Joanne Monk, 70 years old. She was last seen on 4/5/2011 around 8:00 p.m. in the area of the Devonwood Subdivision. Ms. Monk left the area on foot travelling in an unknown direction. Ms. Monk has medical conditions and suffers dementia. A Silver Alert has been issued on Ms. Monk.

- 140 pounds
- Deformity on right thumb
- Black/Grey hair
- Brown eyes
- Wears prescription eye glasses
- She was last seen wearing:
- Sweat pants or blue jeans
- Grey jacket
- White/Blue Sneakers
- Carrying a burgundy purse and a white plastic bag
