Pursuit Finishes With Arrest

        On 8/2/2010 at 10:14am, Fayetteville Police responded to a 911 call involving a man banging on the door at 987 Wayside Drive attempting to gain entry. The caller told police she knew the man and that he had active arrest warrants and he usually carries a gun.

         When police arrived to the scene, the suspect fled in a Gold Buick Oldsmobile and refused to stop for police. The suspect led police on a chase along Strickland Bridge, Rim, Prestige and Bunce Roads and struck a parked vehicle in the 71st High School parking lot before leaving Fayetteville on Raeford Road headed to Hoke County.  The suspect stopped the vehicle on Raeford Road near Hobson Road in Hoke County, jumped from the vehicle and fled the scene on foot before being apprehended by police in a nearby neighborhood.


          Police discovered that the man has a violent history, had at least three warrants for his arrest including two counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon and one count of Assault on a Female, as well as a protective order filed against him.


            Arrested and charged with Felony Fleeing to Elude, along with multiple traffic violations including a Hit and Run accident, several traffic light infractions, Speeding and Careless and Reckless Driving is Darius Deandre Porter, 24 years old.
