The Fayetteville Police Department would like to warn citizens of a current crime trend involving motor vehicle break-ins.
Current statistical information gathered for the passed thirty days have revealed the following information:
- 230 motor vehicle break-ins
- 90 out of the 230 vehicles were unsecured; 39%
This message is simply to warn citizens of the growing trend that is currently occurring within our city.
It is paramount that citizens be aware of items that are in plain-view within their vehicle and make a conscious effort to remove these items. Also, keep vehicle windows rolled up and doors locked at all times.
If a citizen should discover that their vehicle has been broken into, contact law enforcement immediately.
