Victim Shot in Home Invasion Robbery
On 9/28/2010 at 1:42am, Fayetteville Police responded to a shooting call at the 100 block of Shads Ford Boulevard in the Valley Forge Estates area near Morganton Road. Police were called by a resident who said a man was banging on the door asking for help. When police arrived, they noticed the man outside the home had at least one gunshot wound.               The man told police that three men with at least one handgun had broken into his home on the same street and attempted to rob him, when he ran outside and was shot as he ran for help. The gunshot victim identified as Christopher Mitchell, 31, was then transported to Cape Fear Valley Health System and his condition is not currently available. Another victim, Latoya Paige, was in the home at the time of the robbery but was unharmed.               Police immediately canvassed the area in search of the suspects but were unable to locate them at that time. The suspects were described as three black males with their faces partially concealed. The incident is currently under investigation and it is not known at this time what was taken from the residence.
