Career Criminal Caught in the Act
On 9/29/2010 at about 9pm, police officers responded to multiple calls of vehicle break-ins along Morganton Road. At least two victims of the break-ins saw the crimes as they occurred and gave a description to police officers.              After canvassing the area, police officers stopped a man who matched the suspect description and was carrying a bag that appeared suspicious. The bag contained several electronic items including a cell phone and a ladies Louis Vuitton billfold.

During the investigation, officers found three additional vehicles that had been broken into but not yet reported to police. Officers were able to recover the property and return it to the original victims.

Arrested was Daryl Iwai Hadden, 33, of 333 Person Street. Hadden was charged with five counts of breaking and entering, four counts of misdemeanor larceny and four counts of possession of stolen goods. Hadden is a repeat offender with a lengthy history of theft-related crimes. Currently, he is being held at the Cumberland County Jail on $25,000 bond.   DARYL IWAI HADDEN
