Drug Bust Includes Arrest of Accused Murderer
On 9/8/2010, police arrested five people in a drug sting. Among those arrested was Donte Jemal Lucas, 22, of 921 Fiske Drive. Lucas is a repeat offender with multiple felonies and was last arrested on 3/25/2010 for First Degree Murder in the death of Raheem Williams on Boxwood Lane. Lucas made bond and was released from jail after his murder arrest. Lucas was charged today with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Manufacturing Cocaine, Maintaining a Dwelling, Conspiracy to Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of Marijuana.  Others arrested in today’s bust include: ·        Erica Gainey, 24, of 921 Fiske Drive With Possession With Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Manufacturing Cocaine, Maintaining a Dwelling, Conspiracy to Sell and Deliver Cocaine and Possession of Marijuana. ·        Daquan Smith, 19, of 921 Fiske Drive with Possession With Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Manufacturing Cocaine, Maintaining a Dwelling and Conspiracy to Sell and Deliver Cocaine.·        Mario Lyons, 20, of 1500 Blan Street with Possession With Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Manufacturing Cocaine, Conspiracy to Sell and Deliver Cocaine.·        Patricia Blake, 61, of 921 Fiske Drive with Possession With Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Manufacturing Cocaine, Maintaining a Dwelling and Conspiracy to Sell and Deliver Cocaine.

Police Chief Tom Bergamine has emphasized his concern about the ongoing contribution to crime by repeat offenders. “In this case, we have a subject arrested for murder, robbery and felony assault,” said Chief Bergamine. “And he is back on the street selling illegal drugs and in possession of firearms. I have said before that we can’t arrest our way out of crime. Until we start dealing with repeat offenders in a swift manner, they will continue to wreak havoc on our neighborhoods.”
